This is a quick video I did for our church's children's choirs. They did a program last week and I thought I'd shoot a little at their dress rehearsal. Here is the result.

I have been thinking about starting a new blog that highlights things from my "personal life." I'm sure most everyone has heard that you're supposed to keep "personal life and business life separate." But, that doesn't really seem to fit for me. After all, photography is a personal business. Just take a typical wedding - I am generally one of the only people present when the couple sees each other for the first time (the wedding party, parents, etc usually get kicked out of the room). Or, take a maternity session. . . how often do pregnant women show their bellies? Still not convinced? Consider a baby session. . .the infant has been home for just a few hours and the parents are allowing me to hold and mold their new bundle of joy. Plus, I just love my family and don't see any reason why you wouldn't either. Not to mention, its my blog and I can do whatever I want!
My wife was out of town this morning with our baby. Feeling guilty about using the TV as a babysitter, Abigail (my 4 year old daughter) and I took it to the yard. She loves playing outside and it gives me a good excuse to try some new things with my camera.
While I was loading the pictures above on my computer I came across a few others on the same card. I turned 31 last week and we went out to eat with the family at Ingleside Village Pizza. I actually did some work for Tina, the owner and genius behind IVP, about a year ago. You can see some of those photographs here. At any rate, I didn't shoot much on my birthday but here are a few I found.
I hope you've enjoyed these pictures. I plan on sharing more glimpses into my life and the things I like and love as I move forward with this blog. Enjoy this Spring Day!

I had the wonderful privilege of working with Steve Schroeder last Saturday at a wedding at the beautiful Pineola Farms. It is a beautiful setting and they did an amazing job taking care of the bride, groom, and wedding party. If you're looking for a great location, you can't go wrong with Pineola Farms. Likewise, it is always a pleasure to work with Steve. He did my wedding 9 years ago (one of the last he shot using film - we still have all of the 5X5 proofs). I spent the pre-ceremony part of the day working with the guys. Here are just a few of the shots that I captured that day. I'm sure Steve will be posting more on his website/Facebook soon. It is always fun to work with other photographers! Plus, I have found one of my new favorite venues! Enjoy!

It is not uncommon to shoot a large number of pictures during a wedding. Of those pictures that are shot, not all get processed and edited. Then, of those that are processed and edited, only an elite number get passed onto the couple. This video is a "start to finish" and "stop motion inspired" film of the Millwood Wedding. Although we had several photographers, this is just one set of pictures from that day. This was a quick and dirty edit. None of these pictures have been processed in any way (except for one, which will probably catch your eye early on in the video).
We hope you enjoy and please check us out at blue-eye-media.com.

My favorite iPhone app is "Instagram." It is a photo sharing app where you can post, view, share, comment, like, etc pictures (kinda similar to Facebook but much more fun). It also syncs up with Facebook, Twitter, etc so that your posts automatically go to your other accounts. It has been my newest addiction. If you use an iPhone I highly recommend getting it (after all, its free). At any rate, 99% of my IG pictures are taken and edited with my iPhone (iPhoneography). Its just my way of shooting random moments throughout my day (and without having to lug around my huge camera). Anyway, here are a few and I'll post more as time goes on and categorize them as "Instagram" and will also include some reviews of my favorite iPhone editing apps under "iPhoneography." If you add the IG app - look me and maybe even give me a "follow" - I'm @ctbishop8. Give it a try and I'm sure you'll see why it is rated the #1 app of 2011.
Hope you enjoy....
She destroyed this 60 piece puzzle. We thought it would be a challenge - oh well!
Waiting to be baptized on Christmas Eve.
Awesome tree at work. Edited using snapseed on my iPhone (then posted to IG).
Don't text and drive (probably also not a good idea to take pictures of sunsets and drive). Another iPhone edit posted to IG.

Betsy Watts and Josh Powell got married last fall. It was a great wedding at Vineville Baptist Church followed by a reception at The Blacksmith Shop. I edited several of her pictures for black and white and thought I'd share. Betsy's mother, Dale Watts, is an amazing artist and if you're from Macon I'm sure you've seen some of her work (wish I had a link to post but can't seem to find one). Anyway, hope you enjoy the pictures!

This session is from my archives of engagements from this past year. Kim Dalton and Nick Kouloungis picked one of the coldest days last year to take their engagement pictures. This was one of those sessions that took me by surprise....I had spoken with Kim on several occasions but had not yet met Nick. When they got out of their car, I had that "I know you but from where" feeling. It didn't take us too long to realize that Nick and I knew each other from UGA. At any rate, we survived the cold weather and got some great pictures out of it!
